Fishing

Fishing is the headline activity in the hub. It's idle, it's calm, and it's the thing you'll most often be doing while your agent codes.

How to fish

Walk to the dock. Press E on a rod stand to grab a fishing rod. Cast by clicking the water (or pressing E again while holding the rod). The line stays in the water until you reel it in or close the app.

Active fishing — where you're actively at the keyboard — gives you better odds on rare catches. But the rod doesn't need you to be there.

AFK mode

If you walk away from the keyboard, your avatar keeps fishing automatically. This is the AFK mode — and it's deliberately central to the experience. The whole point is that you can:

  • Cast a line
  • Tab back to your editor
  • Run an agent / build / test
  • Tab back to LU
  • Find a few catches waiting for you

That gives you something passively advancing in the background while your code is also passively advancing. Two progress bars at once, no extra effort.

Catches and the codex

Every fish you catch goes into your codex — a personal collection of every species you've ever pulled in. Common fish are easy. Rare fish only show up in specific tides. Legendary fish only appear once in a while.

Codex entries persist across sessions. Friends can see how full your codex is from your profile, but only the species — never the count of mundane catches.

Tides and rare catches

The hub runs on a tide cycle — high tide, low tide, midnight tide, etc. Different tides bring different fish. The cycle is real-world time, so the rare fish you might catch right now are different from the ones available later tonight.

You don't need to memorize tides. The rod's UI tells you what's biting and what's possible.
